As Singapore’s pinnacle annual performing arts festival, the Singapore International Festival of Arts (SIFA) returns from 15 May 2026 to 30 May 2026 with a vibrant constellation of performances, installations, and activities. From epic productions to engaging works of art, SIFA 2026 invites all to explore and experiment with new forms of arts.

With five festival pillars: Festival Stage, Festival House, Festival Village, Festival Play!Ground, and Festival Late Nites—each area will allow you to experience the arts on your own terms—filled with free performances, public installations, and communal spaces. 

At the heart of SIFA 2026 is the long-awaited return of the Festival Village at the Empress Lawn extending to the Anderson Bridge. Serving as a free and open-access hub for gathering and play. 

Return of the Festival Village 

Inspired by the festive spirit of the 1990s and early 2000s, the Festival Village will bring together indoor and outdoor performances, interactive installations, parades and engaging experiences that extend from late night into the early morning. 

Highlighted works include: Just Keep Swimming, Just Keep Swimming《记忆游泳池》by The Theatre Practice—a work which transforms the Festival Village into a communal music and movement space; RUPTURE by The Observatory—a dawn sound installation drawing on seismic research, volcanic activity and mythology, and Makan Culture at the Festival Market—an interactive celebration of Singapore’s beloved dishes through puppetry, music and theatre.

A Festival for All

Building on the positive public response to last year’s SIFA Pavilion at Bedok Town Square, SIFA’s Festival Play!Ground at Nexus, SIFA brings two large-scale and high-impact artistic experiences from the Festival Village to Nexus, Punggol Digital District. 

Meet Noli Timere, a performance as the result of a five-year collaboration between Guggenheim Fellowship recipients Rebecca Lazier and Janet Echelman. Featuring a specially designed, voluminous net sculpture by eight multidisciplinary performers, be sure to catch the soaring aerial performance featuring artists suspended 25 feet in the air! 

From Singapore to the World: A Stage Without Borders

Local commissioned productions and international works will also take the stage to bring together an array of collaborations and culture. 

From spotlighting homegrown cultural icons such as Jacintha Abisheganade, to reimagining classics such as Ibsen’s Hedda Gabler by the National Theater Company of Korea, to productions that incorporate holographic technology and stunning stage illusions, SIFA 2026 opens up multiple pathways and platforms for audiences to rediscover the joy and significance of coming together through art.

Over the festival’s 15-day period, each day will be filled with breathtaking productions, installations, and photo spots to remember the occasion by. 

And while many of its programmes are free, ticketed programmes can be bought with a 20% early-bird discount, till 13 April 2026. Additionally, selected programmes are eligible for the SG Culture Pass, with prices starting from S$20.

BTS World Tour Live Viewing

Gardens by the Bay Sakura Showcase

At 29 metres tall, the Benjamin Sheares Bridge towers over the track, providing an unobstructed bird’s-eye view of the heart-racing action. Located right on top of the Bayfront Grandstand, you’ll get clear views of Tracks 16 and 17, making it one of the best underrated free viewing platforms. Go down early to chope a spot as it doesn’t get any better than this!

Helix Bridge

For a more immersive experience, the Helix Bridge is a well-known spot that provides a close-up view of the race. Esplanade Roof Terrace

What is Walking Trails @ CDC

Launched in collaboration with GovTech and CrowdTaskSG, the Walking Trails @ CDC is an initiative that encourages Singaporeans to discover our vibrant heritage while staying active. Adopting a gamified approach reminiscent of the Pokémon Go craze, they offer up reward vouchers to be earned along the 5 newly launched heritage routes. 

How it works

To get started, head over to CrowdTaskSG to join your quest. As you embark on each trail, you’ll be given 5 checkpoints to find with certain tasks to complete for CDC Trail Badges. Upon earning all 5 badges, you can exchange them for $5 of RedeemSG Rewards Vouchers. Keep your eyes peeled for adorable ollies along the way, as collecting all 6 earns you another S$10! (limited redemptions available) 

With 5 walking trails available to tackle, this means you can earn up to a whopping S$75 worth of vouchers!

Well, we’ve found the perfect resting and snacking spot along this cultural road (especially for families)—Braseiro. Accredited as one of the Top 10 best Steakhouses under S$30 in Singapore, Braseiro redefines affordable steak with its wallet-friendly fire-grilled meat sets. 

Starting off with the restaurant’s signature entree, the Camembert Rôti (S$27.90) comprised melted French camembert cheese, plated with a french baguette. With the baguette toasted to a satisfying crisp, the thick melted cheese created a good contrast in each bite.

Next, the highlight meal. Braseiro’s Flame-grilled Ribeye Steak (S$29.90), accompanied by handcut fries and condiments. As we took a bite of the steak, it turned out to be juicier and more tender than we had expected considering we ordered a medium doneness, while containing a charred flavour. 

Among the sauces served—black pepper, chipotle mayo, and mustard—the black pepper seemed to complement our steak best.

The fries on the other hand, were thinly cut and fried till golden brown. Its skin was also still intact, creating an additional texture for us to enjoy throughout the meal. The best part of it all? These fries become unlimited once you order any meat!

Not to forget the drinks to soothe your stomach, we tried the Virgin Mojito (S$8.90) and  Strawberry Lemonade (S$7.90). A refreshing break to the heavy meal, the Strawberry Lemonade carried a mixture of sweet and tangy, although it did lean towards the sweet side. As for the Virgin Mojito, it simply followed suit as a standard cocktail. 

A spot perfect for families to gather and feast, or for sightseers to take a breather, this French steakhouse is waiting—with an open amount of fries.

Set on the second floor of the unassuming Tan Boon Liat building, this is one cafe you certainly shouldn’t judge by its exterior. As you step in, its stylish and naturalistic designs are a surprising contrast to the run-down exterior. The comforting earthy tones and soft aesthetics will make you feel right at home. 

Its menu is an equally delightful brunch selection serving western-inspired fare with many unique creations that mirror its whimsical image. This includes the signature Sky Medows (S$9)—a uji matcha with blue spirulina milk and yuzu cheese—and Sunlit Fields (S$12)—a cloud yoghurt with orange and honey—which are some of the more creative items we’ve come across while cafe-hopping.

POUT Rooftop Cafe

POUT rooftop cafe is another overlooked gem that not many know about. Tucked away in a lesser-visited part of town, it offers an unobstructed view of the iconic Marina Bay Sands skyline. Its minimalist interior has a soft and dreamy ambience that almost makes you feel like you’re in a Studio Ghibli film. 

Some items featured in their menu include the Mortadella Ham Panini (S$18), which is a savoury pressed sandwich with a hint of sweetness from a fig jam to balance out its flavours. For the sweet-tooths, their rich and luxurious Brulee Basque Cheesecake (S$9) is another must-get.

This rooftop cafe is arguably one of the best places you could go to relax. The wall-to-ceiling glass panels fill the cafe with a beautiful natural glow, and the comfy couches make the cosiest rest areas for a recharge. If you find yourself at Orchard Road in need of a shopping break, this lovely cafe could not be more perfect. 

One of their more popular dishes is the Spinach Hand-cut Tagliolini with walnut and burrata (S$24). Cooked to a perfect al dente, the creamy, nutty, and complex flavour profile of this pasta makes it a fan-favourite. The Calamansi Lime Pie (S$12) is also definitely worth trying, especially if you’re a fan of lime juice.

The visuals don’t stop there as their desserts are just as gorgeous. Their Berry Bavarois (S$9.80) is pale pink and picture-perfect as if it’s right out of a Barbie set. And you can stay on theme with a unique Rose Latte (S$8.50) that’s not commonly found in Singapore.

Inspired by the spirit of shophouses as living expressions of culture and community, the LEGO Shophouse Experience reimagines the Singaporean home and brings it to life through the iconic LEGO bricks, inviting you to learn and appreciate the Peranakan design elements. 

Designed to mirror the flow of a real home, the shophouse spans across a few curated rooms, each with something new to discover.

At the foyer entrance, you’ll be greeted by Singapore’s very first Peranakan-inspired LEGO brick tile wall, set to be the picture-perfect backdrop for capturing your visit. Next, step into a lively dining space filled with heritage-inspired patterns and wander into a cosy living room to discover how LEGO creations can double as stylish home décor. 

Further inside, the adult room presents itself as a futuristic retreat accented by dynamic lighting and curated LEGO displays.

 The kids’ room, on the contrary, offers a softer, dreamlike atmosphere in pastel tones, complete with twin lofts, study nooks, and playful LEGO collections. 

Create your own LEGO

Throughout the LEGO Shophouse Experience, you’ll also notice LEGO figurines created by fans, as well as a chance for you to create your own! Journey through the space, and create your own postcard by collecting stamp colours that gradually unveil a special Peranakan graphic. 

Upon completing the postcard,  build your own LEGO Boombox from Mon to Fri, or LEGO Peranakan mosaic tile from Sat to Sun) at the pop-up retail zone as a keepsake to bring home (while stocks last).

In line with St Patrick’s Day, Irish culture takes centre stage with performances by Comhaltas Singapore, presenting traditional Irish music and dance. A crowd favourite, Irish Inspirational Dance Singapore, will also be returning with their show-stopping performance, bringing the spirit of Ireland to life.
