GastroBeats 2024 will be taking place across four weekends in June, from 31 May to 23 June at the Bayfront Event Space bigger and better than before. But just how big are we talking? Well, for starters, this year’s fair will feature over 70 F&B booths serving local favourites along with a mix of international cuisine.

We got to try tasting portions of the food offered here and you can expect to find familiar names like J.Co, Smile Murtabak, 2ninja1fatty, No Time Hot Pot, La Levain and more.

The popular prawn noodle shop in MacPherson, One Prawn & Co, will also be there serving full-bodied and super umami Signature Soup Bisque (S$15) which comes with fresh prawns and homemade prawn balls.

Seafood lovers, get ready to indulge in a hearty bowl of seafood rice bowls by Crabulous. The star of the show here is the Crabmeat Seafood Vermicelli (S$18) which was garlicky, savoury, spicy and loaded with a ton of fresh seafood. You definitely don’t wanna miss out on this one.

This year’s festival will also feature a series of Thai street food — which have become a staple at any food fair at this point. Chow down on some crispy Thai Fried Bananas (S$10) or chewy Sweet Potato Balls (S$12) from Thai Dessert House.

Remember the TikTok viral Kapitan Bar & Restaurant? Well, good news! They have brought their signature Slavic Dumplings, Puffs and Crepes to GastroBeats. Make sure to get their signature Ang Moh Dumplings (S$10) in your choice of beef or chicken.

We recommend getting the chicken dumplings with an additional Salted Egg Sauce (S$2) which gives the dish a nice sweet and savoury mix.

Probably two of my favourites of the night were Jett Barbecue’s Smoked Beef Cheek Burger (S$24) and Smoked Beef Cheeks with Mashed Potatoes (S$19).

The meats are all lightly seasoned with salt and pepper, and cooked to order, which explains why it was super tender and melt-in-your-mouth.

You can also grab some soothing Chinese fare from the popular Cheeky Bee Hoon. They also have a Gastrobeats 2024-exclusive dish, the Cheeky Pao Fan (S$11) which has a very comforting broth that will certainly remind you of your grandmother’s cooking.

No meal is complete without desserts and of course we had to get our hands on Mia Tavola Tiramisu (S$18) and Pistachio Tiramisu (S$18). Trust us, you will not regret getting this. There’s also the option to get half-and-half desserts for those who can’t choose, as well as non-alcoholic versions of their tiramisu.

Everyone’s favourite Ben & Jerry’s will also be there with their rich and creamy ice creams. You can even try your hand at their special game and  stand a chance to win some exclusive Ben & Jerry’s merch.

Switch up your regular cup of sugarcane juice for one of their creative concoctions at Mr Cane like the Fresh Dragon Cane (from S$6) or the Fresh Orange Cane (from S$6) which was super refreshing.

But of course, there’s also three bars scattered around the event space as well as Bread Beer & Brez’n for you to pick up an ice cold beer or a refreshing cocktail.

Fun fact: one of the official sponsors for GastroBeats 2024 is none other than Coca Cola — because what better way to beat the heat than with an ice cold Coke. You can score S$1 off any food item when you pair it with a can of Coke at any of the food stalls!

There’s also a Coca Cola Food Fest section that has interactive games, a photobooth, a gashapon machine and vibrant photo spots scattered around the space for you to explore.

You’ll wanna make sure you pick up a mission card because when you complete the mission card, you can redeem a special gift! There’s also other prizes to be won at the gashapon machine, which includes an exclusive Coca Cola hoodie.

Now that we’ve gotten the food out of the way, it’s time for some fun and what better way to let your inner child run wild than with some carnival games at Uncle Ringo Entertainment

One of my all-time favourite carnival games is the classic Bumper Cars and you bet I hopped into it the moment I saw the set up. Don’t worry, you don’t need an actual driver’s licence to drive these cars especially since the whole point is to intentionally bump into one another — feel free to go all out.

Other fun carnival games include the quintessential merry-go-round carousel, as well as other old-school carnival games.

Put your competitive streak to the test with a good ol’ claw machine. The machines are stocked with insanely adorable plushies like the viral Mofusand cat, a giant pink panther, and even JBL portable speakers.

Each token costs S$0.50 and depending on how lucky you are that day, you could walk home with a pretty cool prize, or end up broke and empty handed — good luck.

GastroBeats 2024 is also pet-friendly, which means your furkids can join in on the fun too!

There’s a dedicated pet retail section filled with treats, pet accessories, toys and so much more. You can treat your furry little one to a little shopping spree here.

No pets? No problem. There’s also a retail section for you to shop for accessories, apparel, soft toys and more!

You also don’t have to worry about seating as there are plenty of seats available around the space for you to rest your feet from all the walking around.

There’ll also be live music and performances taking place over at the main stage too, so sit back, relax, and enjoy the show against the gorgeous Marina Bay backdrop.
