While IKEA is probably the most famous Scandinavian brand in Singapore, another popular brand from the North had actually landed in Singapore — Leckerbaer, a Danish pastry cafe that recently opened a new outlet at Keong Saik.

Originally from Copenhagen, the Keong Saik space is Leckerbaer’s second in Singapore after opening their first Singapore outlet last year at Orchard.

They were a hit on Instagram with their intricately decorated pastries that include petite cakes and småkagers, a type of cookie pastry that’s popular in Denmark. For high tea lovers, these cute nibbles are a great alternative to the more expensive high tea sets in Singapore.

The new cafe at Keong Saik will be their flagship and boasts of a bigger space than the first one, as well as a much more IG-worthy minimalist decor that just screams Scandinavian.

So you can expect plenty of elegant whites, understated wooden accents, and a few splashes of green if you go down to Leckerbaer’s Keong Saik flagship. A pretty relaxing spot to chill with a Scandinavian-style “high tea” with a cuppa in hand and some pastries to nibble on.

Of course, the most obvious thing to get at Leckebaer is their signature småkager. These delicate pieces of cookies are adorned with gorgeously-crafted finishings that include flavours such as Vanilla, Passionfruit, Ruby Chocolate, and Orange & Chocolate.

These gorgeous pastries are available at S$2.80 while you can also get boxes of them starting from a Box of 8 (S$22). The Keong Saik outlet opening will also come with Leckerbaer’s special Christmas treats for those ready to get into the Christmas mood.

If you’re not really looking to sink your teeth into those adorable cookies — we can’t bear to destroy them too — then there are also tart options available if you want to bask in Leckerbaer’s idyllic vibes at Keong Saik.

There’s the Lemon & Sea Buckthorn (S$7) or a lighter, citrusy treat to pair with teas like Earl Grey Creme (S$6.50). While the richer Dark Chocolate (S$8.50) would pair well with some caffeine, which includes Latte (S$6.50/hot, S$7/iced) and Americano (S$6/hot, S$6.50/iced).
