Climb your way to the top at these rock climbing gyms with olympic-grade rock walls, beginner and kid-friendly routes & more

Physical 100 has been all the rage these days. If you were inspired to get into shape from watching the show, here’s one workout you can consider – rock climbing.

Scaling a rock wall is really no walk in the park. It requires both physical and mental strength – it’s pretty much a full-body workout. Think your body is up for a challenge? Put your strength and agility to the test at these climbing gyms in Singapore. 

1. Project Send

Project Send’s sprawling 5,200 sqft boasts over 70 climbing walls of varying difficulty for both newbies and pro climbers. If you’ve always wanted to give climbing a go but don’t like being too far from the ground, then Project Send is a good place for you to take flight.

There’s more than to do than just monkeying around at Project Send. They also have strength training and mobility classes for you to get into your ideal Kim Min Cheol-esque physique.

After working up a sweat, the climbing gym also has an in-house cafe with delicious bites like grilled cheese sandwiches, bagels, and peanut butter and jelly toasties. Reward yourself with a refreshing smoothie or juice, or get a cup of freshly brewed coffee for a good post-workout caffeine boost.

2. boulder+

Seasoned climbers will be familiar with this climbing space. Located at Aperia Mall, boulder+ features several bouldering walls as well as an endurance wall. Most of the walls here cater to more experienced climbers, but they also have several beginner-friendly routes for rookies to put their strength and agility to the test.

The climbing gym also features topout boulders, which are meant to simulate natural outdoor climbing. You can have your own “Mount Everest victory moment” when you scale to the top of the wall.

If you think that rock climbing is a piece of cake, think again. Give the gym’s 60° overhang wall to get a taste of what climbing really entails. Spoiler alert: you’ll definitely find yourself using your hands, feet, and core muscles to scale the wall. Still think climbing is a piece of cake?

3. Climb@T3

Probably the newest climbing attraction in Singapore, Climb@T3 makes going to the airport even more fun. The climbing spot features over 20 different climbing routes with varying difficulty levels to cater to climbers of all abilities.

On-site is an 8-metre-high rockwall that spans basements 2 and 3, as well as a 12-metre-long bouldering wall to choose from. The walls are provided by the official wall-provider for the 2020 and 2024 Olympic Games — very legit stuff we have here. What’s also unique here is the state-of-the-art auto belay system, which means you can climb together with your friends and race each other to the top.

Climb@T3 makes climbing fun for the whole family, even your young kids can give the walls a go. The climbing gym also has special climbing programmes for kids too, as well as programmes for children with special needs conducted by trained professionals – no one gets left out of the fun here.

4. Boulder Movement

Boulder Movement is perfect for those who are dipping their toes into the world of rock climbing for the first time. This beginner-friendly gym has a variety of challenging routes for you to try out and hone your climbing skills.

The walls here mostly focus on horizontal movements, with some parts of the course requiring you to swing and jump like Tarzan. Seasoned climbers will enjoy the 70° overhang wall which lets you display your pro-climber skills. As with most overhang wall climbs, you’ll need plenty of core strength if you wanna stay stuck on the wall.

The climbing gym has an outlet conveniently located in OUE Tower (perfect for CBD workers), so you can climb your way up the corporate ladder in the day and scale this rock wall at night.

5. Climb Central

Climb Central is probably the most popular climbing spot in Singapore – their four outlets are all located within shopping malls across the island. The walls here are much higher – spanning over two stories – and requires a harness. If you have a fear of heights, this one might not be for you.

Climb Central offers a variety of walls to choose from like the Top Rope, Auto Belay, Boulder, Timer Auto Belay, and Lead Walls. Each wall has their own fair share of challenges and they have different difficulty levels for beginner and seasoned climbers to explore. They also have kid-friendly routes for your little monkeys to scale through.

The gym’s outlet at i12 Katong features a revamped route which includes an arch wall for lead climbers as well as a special wall for the kiddos to try their hand at climbing.
