Saddle up and fulfill your equestrian fantasies at this farm in Johor Bahru where you can ride horses for just S$30 per pax, alongside ATVs, pet farm animals and more

When you hear the words “horse riding”, what’s the first word that comes to mind?

I can bet that the word is “expensive”.

I don’t blame you though as horse riding possesses a certain fancy aura to them. Equestrians dressed in Hermes-looking clothes and the apparent costs of owning a horse make the sport inaccessible to many people.

Well, what if I were to tell you that horse riding is becoming more convenient, not to mention affordable?

Thanks to Amigos Horse Riding School, located at Iskandar Puteri in Johor Bahru (roughly 20 minutes drive from Tuas Checkpoint), this is possible.

Starting from just S$29.74 (RM100) per person, you can ride a horse through their recently extended Jungle Trail, where you’ll be surrounded by lush vegetation. Not to worry! You’ll be in the safe hands of professional trainers.

Each session tends to last around 45 minutes.

A noob in horse riding? You and me both. In this case, we’ve to attend horse riding lessons in order not to break our bones, or worse, injure the precious horses.

What’s great about the horse riding lessons held here is that they’re all conducted by the owner himself — Mr Mos. He’s no doubt the best man around to not only care for the horses but also ensure we train according to our aptitude.

Plus, you won’t just learn about riding a horse. Grooming, washing and feeding the horse are important as well, and you’ll learn all about it through Mr Mos.

All this for S$44.62 (RM150) per person for a private session? I’d say it’s worth it.

If you want to make full use of your horse riding skills, you can consider getting their annual memberships, which lets you have unlimited fun for just S$108.59 (RM365) per person or S$294.57 (RM990) per family of four.

There’s other stuff to do aside from horse riding, such as an off-road ATV riding adventure. You’ll get to traverse through various terrains (mostly muddy!), while taking in the views of the wildlife.

You can even get up close with the many animals housed on the farm like goats and cats. I personally won’t leave until I’ve petted the friendly dog Browney.

I’m sure many of y’all will wonder if these animals are well taken care of. Fortunately, the answer is yes, with their stables cleaned regularly and all their needs being met.

In fact, the environment is so well-maintained and the animals so content that Amigos Horse Riding School is a popular spot for wedding photoshoots.
