But if you haven’t visited the restaurant, boy do we have good news for you. Thanks to the last time they were in Singapore, the hunks have now decided to return — hooray! And this time, they’re gonna be setting up a permanent Mookata restaurant in Singapore — a double win for us.

Mr Mookata Plus will be the first “Thai Hot Guys” mookata joint in Singapore. And yes, they’ll be bringing their itsy bitsy lingerie, and all their racy dance moves to Singapore. Time to slip into something a little more comfortable to party with these hunkies. 

The new space located along Tanglin Road at Phoenix Park and yes, you can definitely expect to be served by the hunks themselves — both looks and food.

Although, the hunky waiters will be a little bit more covered up — think crop tops, tank tops, short skirts and even silky pyjamas. But don’t worry, the sensual dance moves will still be there.

Compared to the previous pop-up, the new space is more spacious — which means more people can enjoy the Thai hunks dancing around them while they dine. There’s also a spacious al fresco dining area with vibey fairy lights to set the mood.

Food-wise, you can expect to feast on Thai mookata paired with yummy marinated meats, seafood, MAMA tom yum noodles, and house-made Thai chilli sauces. What’s new on the menu is this time they also have the popular Lala hotpot here too! A hearty meal with a show? Yes please.

Mr Mookata Plus’ buffet prices start from S$29.90 with unlimited food items and drinks — super value for money. You can also add-on dishes like meats, seafood, veggies and more from just S$1.70 each.

Mr Mookata Plus will be having their grand opening on 3 to 5 May 2024, during which the entire team from Thailand’s Sathaneemeenoi will be in Singapore — yes, all 10 of the hunks. Following the opening launch, six of the hunks will remain in Singapore permanently, with more to join the crew along the way. The best part, they’re open till 1am daily — perfect for TGIF celebrations!

Dertien SG is hidden in Sembawang and offers Thai mookata, hotpot, lok lok and herbal bak kut teh, all under one roof. The best part is, they’re open until 2am daily — looks like I have a new supper spot to check out now. 

If there’s one thing I can’t resist, it’s a good lok lok. Dertien’s Very Good Lok Lok menu boasts a wide selection of ingredients, starting from just S$1 per stick. The must-try items on the menu include fried broccoli (S$1.50), fried wanton (S$1), fried crabstick (S$1), bacon wrap enoki mushroom (S$2.50), smoked duck (S$2) and more. 

Each skewer is fried to a golden crisp and dusted with their house seasoning. You can pair your lok lok with the selection of house-made sauces over at the free-flow condiments section. 

Are you team herbal bak kut teh or pepper bak kut teh? Well, if you’re on team herbal bak kut teh, good news, as Dertien serves a hearty and very comforting pot of bak kut teh. For just S$7 each pot comes loaded with a ton of ingredients — thinking about it is making me crave bak kut teh now. 

If you’re not a fan of pork ribs, you can always go for the meatball soup (S$6) or even the pork stomach soup (S$7). Not in the mood for BKT? No problem, you can always enjoy some nice hotpot instead. 

Just when you think you’ve had enough, you’ll get proven wrong. Bring on the mookata stove! Pick your favourite ingredients and enjoy the best of both worlds — BBQ and a mini steamboat. 

Ingredients-wise, they start from just S$2 and you can find your favourite hotpot ingredients like garlic pork belly (S$2.50), prawn paste (S$3.50), oyster mushroom (S$2) and more. They also have steamboat and mookata platters that are great for sharing — or great for those who can’t decide what to eat. 

All that eating is bound to make you thirsty. Fans of Thai Milk tea will be pleased to know that Dertien SG has a 1.6-litre Thai Milk Tea Tower (S$9.90) — perfect to pair with your mookata. There’s also a lime juice tower (S$9.90) and even a Milo tower (S$9.90). Now I’m spoilt for choice. 

Dertien SG seems to really have everything. Apart from serving you multiple full course meals, they even have dessert sorted out for you — I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream! 

Currently, their ice creams come in six different flavours — mango sorbet, dark chocolate, sea salt caramel & almond, nutella cheesecake, toasted pistachio, and mao shan wang. 

The next time you’re on the lookout for a chill supper spot to satisfy your late-night cravings, you know where to head to! It is quite a distance, but trust me it’s super worth it.

The mookata chain has three outlets — one in Somerset and two in Tampines — but it’s the outlet located at T-Space Building in Tampines North we’re talking about.

Drop by between 4pm to 12am for the Eat-All-You-Can Mookata Buffet which is priced from just S$19.90 per person from Tuesdays to Thursdays and S$22.90 from Fridays to Sundays.

You have 90 minutes to chow down on an extensive range of seafood like oysters, scallops, crayfish, clams, squid, and prawns, alongside pork slices, pork liver, Thai Sausage, smoked duck, marinated chicken, otah balls, fish cakes, cheese tofu, instant noodles, and so much more!

Regardless of whether you choose between tom yum or pork broth, you’ll also get free-flow pork lard that’ll keep your grill slick and your meats tasting sick.

Don’t miss out on the dipping sauces as well, especially if you’ve got a good spice tolerance. Oh, and why not end the meal on a a refreshing note with Coconut Jelly (it’s served in an actual coconut husk) that can be ordered off the a la carte menu?

Thai Me Up (yes, that is their name) is located in Marsiling Industrial Estate, just a short walk from Woodlands MRT station. And you might be familiar with their other brand, Lok Me Up, a popular lok lok stall in Toa Payoh. They’ve brought their signature mentaiko sauce to this mookata outlet and the best part is, it is free-flow — who can say no to that? 

What’s great about mookata besides the yummy sweet Thai marinated meats are the sauces. Thai Me Up has four free-flow sauces, namely, Mentaiko, Nacho Cheese, Thai Seafood Chilli, and Thai Suki Chilli. Mentaiko lovers will love their savoury and creamy mentaiko sauce, while spice lovers will enjoy the Thai chilli sauces.

Food-wise, the mookata joint offers a wide selection of marinated meats, seafood, and snacks, and more. But of course, it’s always a group affair when it comes to eating mookata, which is why Thai Me Up also has affordable combo sets. The Platter for two will set you back just S$25, while the Platter for four costs just S$45. 

We ordered the Platter for two which came with a wide assortment of meats like marinated garlic chicken, garlic pork belly, garlic pork collar, tiger prawns, cheese tofu, thai fish cake, and so much more! Honestly, this was super value for money, and you can always add on a few side dishes to pair with the set meal. Portion wise, it was also good to be shared among three people — depending on how big your appetite is, of course. 

My favourite was the garlic pork belly — anything with garlic is always a win to me. The savouriness of the pork belly complemented well with the charred bits of garlic. Dip it into the tangy and spicy house-made Thai chilli sauce for an added spice kick. 

The marinated chicken, however, could’ve used a little bit more seasoning in my opinion. Fortunately, the Nacho Cheese dip really helped to make the chicken tastier — everything always tastes better with a little bit of cheese, am I right? 

No mookata meal is complete without a serving (or two) of the iconic Thai MaMa Tom Yum noodles. A pro tip shared by some mookata veterans is to stir fry the noodles on the grill and then mix in the tom yum seasoning to get a more flavourful serving of noodles — super yummy indeed! 

But of course, you can still enjoy the mama noodles the traditional way which is to boil it in the hearty soup broth and add in your tom yum seasoning. 

Take a break from cooking and chow down some yummy ready-to-eat sides. The menu features your quintessential Thai snacks like moo ping (S$5), Thai style cockles (S$12), as well as a plate of six Thai style sashimi grade Hyogo Oysters (S$25) for the oyster lovers and those who are feeling a lil boujee. 

The most popular snack is the Half Shelled Scallop with Cheese (S$7). There’s also one with mentaiko sauce for all the mentaiko lovers out there. These scallops were all the rave online and having tried them, I can see why. 

The scallops were extremely juicy and fresh, topped with the smokey savoury nacho cheese and mentaiko mayo. I personally preferred the nacho cheese as I found the mentaiko to be a little bit too salty for my liking. 

Another highly raved about side was the Portobello mushroom with cheese (S$7). However, that was unfortunately unavailable. Looks like I’ll have to make another visit back to give those a go. 

Thai Me Up is also conveniently located just a short walk from Republic Polytechnic. Located just a mere three-minute walk from Jalan Besar MRT station at the Bistro 8 @ Kelantan Lane coffeeshop, this locally-owned mookata joint specialises in MSG-free pork bone and tom yum soup bases, alongside an extensive variety of meats, seafood, vegetables, and snacks.

There are plenty of options to choose from, including the likes of Truffle Chicken, Smoky Sliced Duck, Beef Volcano, Prawns, Thai Crab Stick, Thai Fish Cake, Ban Mian, and so much more.

Choose between a la carte or the more value-for-money 120-minute buffet, which is priced at a pretty affordable S$25.80 nett for adults.

Otherwise, meat lovers can make a beeline for the regular Platters (S$23.80 for 2–3 pax, S$32.80 for 4–6 pax) and feast on Signature Spicy Chicken, Mala Spiced Pork Collar, and Sesame Chicken, amongst several others.

Those who wish to go all out can simply order one of the Premium Seafood Platters ($30.80 for 2–3 pax, S$43.80 for 4–6 pax), piled high with generous servings of both meats and assorted seafood.

You can also find individual portions of Mama Noodles (S$6.50) and Mama Rice Bowls (S$6.50) with your choice of chicken, pork, beef, or seafood, should you need to bulk up your meal even more.

Fu Lu Shou opened their first outlet in February 2023 at Epic Haus kopitiam in Toh Guan, and quickly opened a second outlet just a month later at Clementi. If that doesn’t attest to their popularity, I don’t know what will! 

The first thing that you’ll probably notice is this S$6.90 hotpot set for one. Despite its affordability, the set comes with pork belly slices, an assortment of vegetables and mushrooms, and even black fungus. Seriously, what a steal! You’ll also get to pick your own soup base — think premium pork bone broth, mala (with customisable spice levels), and tomato broth. 

Check out their S$6.90 chicken pots as well — these come in varying levels of heat from no spice to hot (da la). 

Of course, we can’t forget about this presentation either. Each dish comes in these fabulously opulent pots (it’s giving oriental) that are sure to elevate your dining experience, even if you’re eating in a kopitiam. 

Looking to have a good meal with friends? You’ll also find Yuan Yang Hotpot sets for up to four people going for S$48, and include pork, prawns, and so much more. For just S$12 per person, I’d say it’s still pretty worth it.

If you feel like having mookata, Fu Lu Shou’s got you covered as well — talk about a Jack of all trades! The Value Set for four will set you back only S$9 per person, and has a variety of marinated meats, seafood and vegetables. Feeling a little more bougie? Opt for the Premium Set (S$48/4pax) that has scallops and crayfish on top of everything else.

Do you always find yourself looking for the best and most reasonably priced halal mookata spots in Singapore? If you’ve never tried BBQ mookata at ENAK along Arab Street, now’s the time.

The popular Muslim-owned eatery is best known for its nasi lemak, mee rebus, massive nasi ambeng platters, and of course, BBQ Mookata, which was (shockingly) taken off the menu in mid-2022.

Fortunately, ENAK has collaborated with speciality halal deli and butcher shop A Company of Butchers to bring back the long-awaited mookata, which was finally launched on 7 January 2023.

The concept is pretty much the same — those dining in pairs can opt for the Two Pax Set Menu (S$40), while larger groups may prefer to pick and choose from the a la carte selection.

You’ve got the usual vegetables (from S$2) and staples (rice, noodles, and eggs, from S$1), alongside meats (from S$4) like chicken, beef, and lamb with either teriyaki or black pepper sauce; seafood (from S$3) like tiger prawns, salmon fillet, and baby squid; and bites (from S$2) like cheese tofu, tom yum fish cake, and crab stick.

Choose between the Clear (S$1.50) or Tom Yum (S$3) soup base, and you’re good to get grilling!

Do note that a minimum of 10 items per hot plate set (excluding the soup base) must be ordered, but that shouldn’t pose an issue for anyone.

If you’re feelin’ a little fancier than usual, you can also add on premium meats like Lamb Ribs (S$36), Australian Wagyu 200gm Steak (S$28), and Japanese A5 Wagyu in both Steak (S$70) and Shabu Shabu (S$35) form, alongside non-alcoholic red or white wine (S$35) from Spain. Cheers to that!

BBQ mookata at ENAK is only available at dinnertime (6pm onwards) from Thursdays to Saturdays, but there’s still plenty of time to grill up a storm.

If you’re feeling something different, the Thai Hot Pot Set (S$38) comes with a similar set of ingredients, but with the added bonus of an extra comforting broth.

Don’t forget to pair your meats with the eatery’s special Thai-style chilli and dipping sauces that are sure to pack a fiery punch!

Pair your mookata or hotpot with a selection of grilled seafood, including the likes Giant River Prawn (from S$20 per piece), Gong Gong (S$12), or Half Shelled Cockles (S$18). You can even the iconic Crab Omelette (S$16) popularised by Michelin-starred Bangkok street food joint Jay Fai.
