Set in 111 Somerset, Lucine’s interior is bathed in natural light, flooding in from the floor-to-ceiling windows. Along with life-sized floral installations and stylish light fixtures, it is an ideal spot for a first date or an aesthetic meal worthy of your Instagram feed. 

Keeping its menu relevant, the upgraded selections are inspired by the latest food trends, such as the Korean Spicy Marinated Egg, which is a jammy soft-boiled egg. They also cater to the local palate with creations like the Laksa Pasta, alongside other favourites like a Carbonara Chicken Pasta and Pan-Seared Salmon rice bowls. 

Don’t forget to check out classic selections like the Grilled Cheese Sandwich (S$12.90), and try to recreate the iconic cheese pull. For a vegetarian option, their Tofu Katsu Sandwich (S$10.90) will be a satisfying, protein-packed option, leaving you feeling satiated but not heavy. 

The highlight of this eatery, however, has to be its petite cakes. Signatures include a unique Tofu cake (S$8.50), which has a silky mousse-filled centre with hazelnut and buckwheat, supported by a sablé biscuit base. Alternatively, it also offers a more decadent Chocolate Rocher Petite (S$8.80) and an Orh Nee Cake Petite (S$8.50). 

A good dessert always deserves a good beverage, and Lucine’s speciality lattes are made just for that. The Tiramisu Latte (S$8.50), for example, is a creamy, chocolaty drink that’s almost as indulgent as the cakes. The café also serves an Affogato (S$8) if you need an escape from Singapore’s sweltering weather.

So if you’re craving a halal-friendly brunch spot that serves up good food and good aesthetics, Lucine will not disappoint. With all dishes under S$20, it’s almost too good to be true!

It’s wise to keep close tabs on this cafe’s social media page, as you have to RSVP for a coveted spot via a Google Form shared there. Should the stars align and you’ve gotten your spot, be prepared for deliciously crafted drinks, cakes, and pastries.

Brew with Grace 

While we have yet to have the actual Gutiokipanja bakery from Kiki’s Delivery Service in Singapore, the next best thing would probably be Studio Ghibli-inspired home-based cafe Brew with Grace.

Sprinkled with cottagecore aesthetics and cosy, Studio Ghibli-inspired furnishings, you’ll feel like you’re wrapped in a warm hug the moment you step into the cafe’s dimly lit space.

The menu is short but sweet, with three coffee options — Black (S$3), White (S$4), and Mocha (S$4.50). Or spice things up with something from the Monthly Specials, which includes Strawberry Matcha Oats (S$5.50) made with ISUZU Ceremonial Grade Matcha and Yuzu Matcha Oat (S$5.50).

Best of all, the most adorable little helper is lounging around the cafe. Aptly named Totoro, feel free to play with the owner’s cat whilst sipping on your magical brew.

They may be called lazycupsg, but don’t let this Punggol gem’s name fool you.

There are a couple of standard drinks on the menu like Mocha (Hot – S$4.30, Iced – S$4.80) and Vanilla Latte (Hot – S$4.30, Iced – S$4.80). 

But crowd favourites you have to try include the eponymous The lazy cup (S$6). As the cafe’s signature cloud coffee, this Taiwan-inspired brew consists of double-shot espresso with milk, topped with rich, velvety sweet cream.

Is it that sweet? I guess so, judging by the online reviews raving about its creamy goodness.

If I’m being frank, I might never be willing to cough up over S$30 for Erewhon’s infamously expensive and elaborate celebrity smoothies (if I try to, please stop me). 

Thankfully, there’s a more wallet-friendly dupe here on our sunny island! Meet 2 Sisters’ Smoothie, which I’m already sure you’ve heard of as it’s stirred up virality online.

Grab yourself an Erewhon-inspired, icy drink from their smoothie bar, where prices range from S$5.90 to S$7.90.

Choose from their selection of smoothies, housed in various series like the Berry Series or the Acai Series. They even have something for those in their strawberry matcha era — the Strawberry Matcha Smoothie.

Then customise your order to your taste with three different bases — almond milk, coconut water, and apple juice.

Matcha maniacs, this one’s for you. Hand-whisked to order, Whisk & Waddles’ matcha drink range might leave you with the hardest choice ever. 

From fruity blends like Golden Drift (S$6.40), a mango matcha, and Arctic Wave (S$6.40), a coconut cold foam matcha, to indulgent treats like their Biscotti Blizzard (S$6.90), a Biscoff cold foam latte — Whisk & Waddles and matcha lovers will certainly be a matcha made in heaven.

Best of all, you can pair your drinks with their desserts, baked by local bakery business Our Daily Loaves. I don’t know about you, but their Chocolate Brownies (S$4 a piece), Choco Espresso Roll (S$4.20), and more all sound like a good idea.

Unfortunately, the cafe is currently undergoing a short break but rest assured, they will return soon enough.

Caffeine addicts will probably tell you they need their daily coffee fix to get in the right state of mind, so what better way to do so than at State Of Mind Cafe?

This home-based cafe focuses on serving espresso and handcrafted, artisanal drinks by the window. They claim to serve affordable, quick fixes, which I can vouch for looking at their menu.

For the Classics, choose between OGs like The Yin (S$4), a double espresso or The Yang (S$4.50), the double espresso over milk of your choice. 

Or get adventurous and explore Specialities which are classics with a twist. Some interesting options include the Kinako Latte (S$5), a double espresso with roasted soybean powder and Okinawa sugar over milk of your choice.

Pet parents, rejoice as this is a home-based cafe just for you.

Coffee Near Me, which has been making waves online, is just near the Lower/Upper Peirce Reservoir. That means this is the perfect spot for a coffee break after any leisurely hike.

The menu is as straightforward as it gets, serving both Coffee and Non-Coffee options. From the Coffee selection, grab yourself a Spanish Latte (S$5/S$5.50) or a Cappuccino (S$4.50), just to name a few.

And as for the Non-Coffee options, Hot/Iced Chocolate (S$5/S$5.50) and Hojicha Latte (S$5/S$5/50), among other options, are available. 

Coffee Near Me didn’t forget about the furry friends either. Feed your dogs with their favourite treat, a pup cup, the next time you swing by with your companions.

Make sure to get your hands on the bakes too. The menu switches up every week, with pre-orders required if you wish to savour these treats. Hence, I’d advise keeping an eye on their socials for the latest lineup and to place your order in advance.

What’s better than one pet-friendly home-based cafe? Two of them!

If you’ve been looking to hop onto the strawberry matcha wave, Coffee By The Porch is the place to be. 

Beyond their Strawberry Matcha (S$6.50), they also have both your standard and unique drinks for your sampling.

These include Dirty Matcha (S$6), Einspänner Matcha (S$6.50), Einspänner Coffee (S$6), and more.

Don’t leave your drinks go solo. Instead, pair them with some of their homemade bakes like their Chicken Ham Focaccia (S$8.50) (I’m still dreaming about this to this day) or their Banana Cake (S$5). 

They even have their one and only Cookie Butter Acai (S$7), a delicious mix of acai, bananas, honey nut granola, Biscoff crumbs, and cookie butter.

Coffee By The Porch is currently on break, but has announced upcoming pop-ups happening in May 2025. Follow their socials to ensure you get a spot when the sign-ups are open.

Taira Pastry is a homegrown bakery that started during the COVID period. Well-known for its artisan tartlets, festive cookies, and customised theme cakes, I am elated to see that it has finally opened its first physical outlet in SAFRA Tampines! Do note that there are different prices for SAFRA members and non-members.

Taira stands for 平 in Japanese which is also ‘balance’ in Mandarin. This is fitting because life is all about balance, especially in a fast-paced country like Singapore. Taira Pastry offers a safe sanctuary for those who want to take a step back and breathe.

With so many unique tarts, Lychee Rose Tartlet (S$6.63 for members, S$7.80 for non-members) is one that caught my attention. It is an interesting combination of lychee custard, huge lychee fruit pieces and lychee boba. It’s hard to fathom the taste but I bet that it will pair well together with the light and fruity flavour profile.

There’s also room for creativity as they offer a customisable menu for pastries, such as Mini Tarts (box of 8 pieces), Puff Pastry (2 pieces), and Caramel Glazed Croissant. After, you can decide whether you want it Sweet (S$8.93 for members, S$10.50 for non-members) or Savoury.

As a fan of sugar and spice and everything nice, I would have gone down the Sweet route. They have four flavours to pick from: original, chocolate and seasonal or Half & Half (additional S$0.43 for members, S$0.50 for non-members). Then after, complete your pastry with four toppings from strawberries, blueberries, mango, peach, grape, and more options!

If you prefer something saltier, the savoury options consist of four spreads: Egg Mayo (S$8.93 for members, S$10.50 for non-members), Mac & Cheese (S$9.35 for members, S$11 for non-members), Tuna Mayo (S$9.78 for members, S$11.50 for non-members), and lastly Salmon Mentaiko (S$10.63 for members, S$12.50 for non-members).

It is a must to get a drink to wash down the pastries. Taira Pastry offers your usual range of Espresso coffee: Black (S$4.68 for members, S$5.50 for non-members), White (S$5.10 for members, S$6 for non-members) and Mocha (S$5.95 for members, S$7 for non-members). But if you are feeling bold, take a look at their Hand Brew Coffee (S$6.80 for members, S$8 for non-members). 

Unfortunately, I like tea better. They also have assorted hot and iced tea options like Uji Hojicha Latte (S$5.53 for members, S$6.50 for non-members), Matcha Azuki (S$6.80 for members, S$8 for non-members), and Strawberry Matcha (S$6.80 for members, S$8 for non-members).

When we talk about warabimochi places in Singapore, the first that comes to mind is Warabimochi Kamakura. After a long wait, they have finally opened their first dine-in cafe, located at Waterway Point! 

The cafe is eye-catching from a mile away with its bright interior. I’d say that the seating area is pretty cosy although it’s an open concept. If you’re nosy like me, there is also a live station beside the counter where you can watch them prepare your mochi on the spot.

As a first-timer at Warabimochi Kamakura, I tried their 3-Piece with Hot Matcha Set (S$9.90), exclusive only to Waterway Point. When I first tried the warabimochi, it instantly reminded me of one of my favourite street foods, Muah Chee. Each piece of the warabimochi was coated with kuromitsu sauce and kinako powder. Initially, I thought the mochi was too sweet for my liking but it complemented the bitterness of the Hot Matcha in the set.

Out of everything I tried, my favourite is the outlet-exclusive Kuromitsu Soft Serve with Kinako Powder (S$6.90). The creamy texture of the soft serve just goes so well with the mild brown sugar flavour.

I would say that the soft serve melts pretty fast so I recommend choosing the cup over the cone especially if you’re a slow eater. Do also note that flavours change seasonally.

One can’t just go to a cafe without getting drinks, so my friends and I got the three outlet-exclusive drinks to try. We got the Rich Chocolate (S$7.90 for small, S$9.90 for medium), Chocolate Banana (S$7.90 for small, S$9.90 for medium), and Melon Milk (S$7.90 for small, S$9.90 for medium).

The Melon Milk appealed the most to my tastebuds (though to be fair, I’m a huge fan of anything melon). It was not as sweet as expected and left behind a light aftertaste of melon. I would say that this would be something children would like.

The Chocolate Banana comes with whipped cream and chocolate chips, which were very indulgent. The taste was reminiscent of those chocolate banana split I would eat as a child. All three drinks came with chewy warabimochi bits but it paired especially well with the Chocolate Banana.

All in all, I found the place pretty snug and I would definitely be thinking of the Kuromitsu Soft Serve with Kinako Powder in my sleep.

But, if heaven were to be a place on earth, I would imagine that this hidden cafe along Mount Sophia might just be what heaven would look (and feel) like on Earth. 

Cafe Manna is the newest addition to the quiet Mount Sophia, near Dhoby Ghaut, which has been making waves online for its very pretty stained glass panels and all-white aesthetic. Interestingly, the cafe is also hidden within The Secret Haven. 

Living up to the “secret” in its name, The Secret Haven is rather hidden, and you’ll have to endure a nine-minute long walk and climb a super long staircase — that actually might feel like the staircase to heaven. 

But once you arrive at the entrance of the cafe, you’ll be greeted by the vibrant stained glass nestled among white walls and green plants — which, after that long walk, will feel very much like you have arrived at the gates of heaven (or haven). 

Inside, you’ll find that the interior is kept to a minimal and dressed in neutral tones. You really can’t help but feel so peaceful inside — kinda like how you would feel in heaven I guess. 

Ok enough about the aesthetics, let’s talk about the food. Cafe manna has a rather extensive food menu, comprising all-day brunch platters, hearty mains, sides and more. 

As a self-proclaimed rosti lover, of course I had to order the Rosti with Sausage & Egg (S$18.90) which comes with a thick and juicy sausage alongside two perfectly cooked sunny side up eggs and a generous dollop of sour cream. 

I was really impressed by how thick and crispy the rosti was. The sausage added a burst of flavour and smokiness to the mix, while the sour cream helped to cut through the greasiness. It was simple yet indulgent and definitely ticked all the right boxes for a good rosti. 

We also had the Baked Shakshuka with Chorizo & Sourdough (S$19.90). It comprises bell peppers, tomatoes and chunks of chorizo, paired with crispy sourdough slices. 

I wished that the shakshuka had a bit more of the tomato tang to it. The bell peppers really overshadowed the other components, so if you’re not a big fan of bell peppers you might wanna skip on this one. 

For mains, we had the Braised Beef Cheek with Mash (S$27.90). It featured two generous servings of tender beef cheek on top of super creamy and buttery mash. 

Given how beefy and slightly gamey the flavours were, pairing  the beef with a generous serving of creamy mash was definitely ideal.

If you still have the stomach for more food, why not get some sides like the Loaded Tater Tots (S$15.90), Charred Broccolini (S$15.90), or the classic Truffle Fries (S$14.90). 

Drinks-wise, Cafe Manna has partnered with am coffee co to serve you some delicious and unique brews, along with your usual cafe coffees. 

If you love bandung and coffee, then you definitely must get the Bandung Rose Latte (S$7.50) which features a special milk blend and rose syrup, topped with bandung foam and rose petals.

The components individually were great, but when drunk together, the coffee did overpower the flavours of the rose syrup and bandung. That said, I loved the sweet rose notes. 

I personally preferred the Tiramisu Latte (S$8.50) which is an iced latte topped with mascarpone crème and dusted with the right amount of Valrhona cocoa powder and a ladyfinger biscuit sitting on top. The coffee does contain a splash of alcohol — as does the classic tiramisu dessert. 

All I can say is, my time spent at Cafe Manna was definitely not like any other cafe visit. Surprisingly, I felt so calm and zen inside. I am definitely making plans to return to Cafe Manna — yes, I am willing to endure the long nine-minute walk there. And this time, I’ll try to get my hands on their Burnt Cheesecube (S$7).

Located at Wheelock Place, Nico Cafe is a super aesthetic floral cafe that looks like it was taken straight out of a pinterest board. The entire cafe is dressed in neutral tones, with plenty of plants and flowers to give it a pop of colour. You’ll wanna put on your floral dresses, throw on a pair of cute sunnies, and pose for plenty of pics while you’re here. 

But what really caught my attention was the IG-worthy book wall — which for some reason, reminded me of the Harry Potter series. The entire wall is decked with books, real books. 

There’s also little pockets of (fake) flowers hanging on the wall to give an extra pop of colour. If you’re looking to get a shot here, you’d better head down early as the seats by the wall are very popular — and rightfully so. 

Food-wise, you definitely have to get their jiggly souffle pancakes. We had the Mixed Berries Pancakes (S$21.98) which was super soft and a real medley of flavours. The fresh mixed berries and the berry puree added a nice tangy zing which contrasted well with the sweet pancakes. 

The best way to enjoy this was to get a little bit of everything in one bite — the sweet pancakes, sour berries, topped with a dollop of milky vanilla ice cream. Yummy! 

Another must-try is their hearty Wagyu Beef Sando (S$19.90). Sandwiched between two nicely toasted brioche buns is a thick and juicy wagyu beef patty crusted in a panko shell, topped with caramelised onions, pickles, and a blend of karashi mayo and Otafuku sauce (a sweet and savoury okonomiyaki sauce). 

Although I would have preferred if there were a little more onions in the sando to help elevate the flavours of the beef patty. If you’re not a pickles person, remember to request for no pickles — because I forgot to request it.

We also tried the Bikini Sandwich (S$13.90) which had parma ham, truffle honey, and Roma tomato, all sandwiched between two toasted brioche buns. It was the perfect blend of sweet and savoury, with the tomato adding a nice burst of tanginess into the mix. 

For drinks, coffee and creme brûlée lovers must order the Coffee Brûlée (S$8.90). The coffee was robust and aromatic, with the sweetened milk adding a nice touch of creaminess to coffee. Of course, not forgetting the torched sugar top to give it the true creme brûlée feels.

If you’re not a coffee lover, the Mango Tango Slushie (S$10.90) is another crowd favourite. It is a refreshing blend of coconut and milk, topped with fresh diced mangoes and coconut shavings. I personally found the coconut flavour to be a little overpowering in this one, so if you’re not nuts about coconut, maybe you can go for their cold brew teas (S$8.90).  

Nico Cafe certainly is the perfect cafe to bring your date to, especially if you wanna make a great impression. The pretty aesthetics are amplified by the natural sunlight — albeit it does come at a cost, you’ll be working up a real sweat here. 

Pro tip: As the cafe offers mostly al fresco dining, you might wanna keep a little portable fan handy to keep cool while dining under the sun. Or pick out a nice shady spot to sit.

The post This cottage core-themed cafe is overflowing with aesthetics with an IG-worthy book wall, jiggly pancakes, wagyu sando, and more appeared first on Confirm Good.

Taking place from 12 June to 20 August 2023, the collaboration will take over the space previously occupied by Attack on Titan and will feature themed interiors from the manga series. You’ll also get to taste food that Anya ate in the series, as well as chow down on some exclusive food offerings and more. 

On the menu are hearty mains, sinful desserts, and beverages that reference some of your favourite characters, as well as iconic scenes and locations from the anime. Yes, you’ll definitely see the quintessential pink shade (Anya’s hair) popping up quite a fair bit in some of the dishes. 

I don’t know about you but the food served in anime always looks so good. If you’ve ever wondered what the food in Spy x Family tastes like, or at least the Sorry Omurice that appeared in Episode 7, you’re in luck! The cafe has brought the SORRY Omurice S$18 to life, complete with the words “sorry” piped in ketchup — definitely a must try when you visit. 

Apart from featuring dishes from the show, there are some dishes that were created to represent certain characters. Anya’s Pink Pasta (S$18) features pasta, ham, and cheese with a creamy cherry blossom pink mushroom sauce. The dish also comes with peanuts served on the side — that’s right, peanuts. There’s also the Eden Academy School Cafeteria Bento (S$22) which will surely transport you to the halls of the school. 

The Anya Strawberry Milkshake (S$9) comes complete with her pointy headband, while Yor’s Red Velvet Lava Cake (S$15) combines the dark yet sweet personality of its namesake. 

Apart from food and drinks, there’s also limited edition merch available at the store. But, the best part is you can score merch for free! With every S$15 spent on merch, you’ll get a lenticular card at random for free, and with every S$40 spent, you’ll get a luggage tag.
