Yakiniku joints have seen a surge of popularity and are drawing long queues and social media hype. Tender, juicy, and thinly-sliced meat grilled right in front of your eyes to perfection — it’s a truly decadent experience.

One of the most popular ones is Yakiniku Like, a popular chain from Japan known for a fast-food-like experience that provides individual smokeless grills and speedy service.

They’re so efficient, you get served within 3 minutes of ordering. If you’re interested to indulge some juicy Yakiniku meat, they’ve opened 2 new outlets at Clementi Mall and Vivocity to make it even more convenient for everyone.

Solo diners looking for some alone time outside will definitely enjoy the clean, unintrusive experience. But if you’re going as a pair, two diners can also share one grill.

Plus, it’s also the perfect place for BBQ meat lovers. The chain offers one of the most authentic and value-for-money Yakiniku platters, whereas most Yakiniku is generally quite expensive in Singapore.

It’s easy to see how popular Yakiniku Like is — wait times at the original PLQ outlet can stretch to 1 or 2 hours. Thankfully, they have a nifty e-ticket system in place so you can go for a short window shopping trip before your meal.

When you finally get seated, take a moment to look through some of the Sets they have on the menu which start from only S$8.80 nett.

Furthermore, each set also comes with an array of sauces, rice, soup, and a choice of kimchi or salad. Alternatively, you can order your meat ala carte and top up S$4.90 to make it a set.

For those who want the best bang for your buck, go for the 100g Pork & Chicken Set which is the cheapest on Yakiniku Like’s menu at only S$8.80.

Though beef lovers might want to go for the Karubi Set, which only costs S$9.80 for 100g of beef short plate. Big eaters should head straight for the Like Set (S$15.80/150g) which is a hearty mixture of tongue, skirt plate, and short plate.

A luxurious Wagyu Steak Set is also on their menu for the ballers at S$19.80 for 120g and S$29.80 for 180g. Pretty affordable steak pricing — only concern is whether you’d overcook it.

If that’s still not fancy enough for you, Yakiniku Like will also be offering an A5 Miyazaki Wagyu Set consisting of three cuts (zabuton, chuck and brisket) at all their outlets from June 22 to Aug. 15, 2021, priced at S$32.80.

Just a short while on the dancing flame and you’ve got yourself a juicy piece of meat done to your preference. Keep it slightly rare if you want, or char it a bit if you like more smoke.

The star of the platter was the short plate that was dripping with luscious beef juices. Not to mention it had a nice tender bite which was accentuated by a gentle fattiness.

Overall, they provide an experience that’s efficient, affordable, and most importantly, tasty. For the price, you won’t be disappointed by the flavourful meats which definitely taste better than their price tags might suggest.
