First, this outlet boasts two floors that exude different vibes!

On the first floor, choose between outdoor or indoor seating.

Or for a more private setting, head upstairs. 

Whether you’re chatting over long communal tables or huddling in what I’d dub the “couple’s cave”, aka a snug nook built for two, the dimly lit space with closed curtains felt like a secret hideaway.

Found your cosy corner? Good. To sweeten the deal, there’ll be a one-for-one scoop promotion on opening day from 3pm to 8pm! This basically means bringing a friend or just treating yourself twice.

But if you’re unsure what to get, I’ve got you covered. 

Of the 12 flavours available, the new ones include Earl Grey Lemon Tea (Dairy-free by the way — a win for anyone lactose-intolerant!) and Biscoff Cheesecake. 

Price-wise, single scoops go for S$5 while double is S$9. Add a S$1 if you’re opting for the premium flavours.

And if you’re having it in a cone instead, add a S$1 as well.

We sampled Earl Grey Lemon Tea, as it’s the first time I’ve heard of lemon tea gelato so I just had to.

This was refreshing, light, and tangy. If you’re not indulgent, get this and you’ll probably want seconds.

Fan-favourites include Milky Honeycomb, Brownies N Cream, and Grape Yakult W/ Oreo Bits.

Compared to the rest, Milky Honeycomb was creamier. The honeycomb added a caramelised sweetness without being too cloying.

You can’t go wrong with the classic Brownies N Cream, as the rich chocolate flavour comforts the soul.

And finally, yes, even I had to do a double-take, the Grape Yakult W/ Oreo Bits. This sounds like an unlikely duo, but never judge a book by its cover (or more like its swirl).

First lick and I’m not exaggerating when I say this — but it tasted almost exactly like Grape Yakult. Sweet, milky, fruity, and with Yakult’s signature tanginess, it’s like licking (or biting, I won’t judge) the drink.

Personally, the soft Oreo bits didn’t do much for me, but it didn’t clash or overpower.

It’s like dunking your Oreo into a tangy, fruity milk.

Now for the headline act. If you don’t know what After Hours Gelato is known for, it’s their Signature Churros Mochi Waffle (S$8.50).

We got two scoops to crown this masterpiece — Milky Honeycomb and Grape Yakult W/ Oreo Bits.

Both flavours are starkly different, but worked amazingly with the waffle for various reasons. 

Pair the waffles with Grape Yakult W/ Oreo Bits for a reminder of fruit-based mochis. 

For Milky Honeycomb, the waffle’s toasty cinnamon and crunchy notes contrast nicely with its smooth creaminess for a rich, satisfying spoonful.

Aside from this, you must get the outlet-exclusive item — Dalgona Coffee Cream Butter Toast Set (S$18) if you’ve still got room for more.

A major throwback to 2020, this thick and soft toast, combined with a vanilla gelato scoop and the dalgona coffee cream, reminded us of tiramisu.

Finally, we ended with drinks — Iced Matcha Latte (S$7) and Watermelon Calpis (S$6).

The Iced Matcha Latte was not too sweet, while the Watermelon Calpis didn’t have as much watermelon flavour as we expected, but it was still refreshing.

Guess what our friends from Down Under have gifted us?

Gelato Messina, a famous Australian gelato chain, has opened its first-ever outlet in Singapore.

Here’s the lowdown on what to expect.

The gelato brand has swapped its “mate” for “bro”, bringing 40 flavours to our sunny island, including five Singapore-exclusive gelato flavours.

These include Kaya Toast, Tau Huay (silken tofu), Singapore, How Are You Durian?, Teh Tarik, and Yolk’s On You.

While most of these are taken directly from their inspirations, Singapore, How Are You Durian? and Yolk’s On You, are densely packed with other indulgent elements. 

Singapore, How Are You Durian? is a coconut gelato with durian jam and durian cake, while Yolk’s On You combines salted egg yolk with gula melaka caramel. 

As for non-local flavours, they include Hokey Pokey, Boysenberry, and more.

Our lactose-intolerant friends have not been forgotten! Eight sorbet options await, like Salted Coconut & Mango Salsa, Passion Fruit, and more.

Did I also mention the sorbets are vegan? That means fewer headaches looking for the gelato spot that fits everyone’s needs.

Cost-wise, I’ll admit your wallet might feel a bit of a pinch — single scoops go for S$7.50, while a double costs S$10, and a triple is S$12.

Cone and cup options are available at the same price.

In this case, judging by the prices, the more you scoop, the less you spend on each individually, and the more smiles you get (This is girl-math approved).

If you’re still unsure about giving it a swirl, don’t worry, as I’m here with our review.

We got three flavours — Tiramisu, Panna Cotta w/ Fig Jam & Amaretti, and Kaya Toast.

Scooping into Kaya Toast, I’ll have to say that this is the real deal — no soft serve here.

The OG dish is incorporated down to the T. You’ll find kaya jam in the mix, as well as toasted bread chunks.

Kaya jam itself is pretty sweet, but this gets the ultimate Asian compliment of “not too sweet” whilst remaining true to the original coconut taste. 

We were also pleasantly surprised that the toasted bread chunks weren’t soggy at all, making for a complementary crunch!

If you’re not ready to cone-mit to the locally-inspired items, try the signature flavours instead. Tiramisu was yet another showstopper. Just like Kaya Toast, you’ll find actual sponge cake inside.

However, while it tasted like tiramisu, it lacked an alcohol flavour. Nevertheless, this is still a treat perfect for tiramisu lovers.

And finally, the Panna Cotta w/ Fig Jam & Amaretti is a great fruity option.

Smooth and creamy, the Amaretti biscuits provided nice bits of contrasting texture while the panna cotta base had subtle sweetness. And for a fruity finish, the fig jam’s flavour was present in every bite.

All in all, you’re in great hands no matter which flavour you try at Gelato Messina. So don’t say I didn’t warn you that you might just come back for seconds (or thirds, I won’t judge).

Well, good news because there’s yet another cafe and this time it’s situated in Serangoon (yay!). Oddity Cafe is the place to go if you have an upcoming brunch date including a mini “drive-through” for people who want to grab their coffee to go. 

Did I mention that you can bring your fur babies too?

It also has a rustic and cosy ambience alongside a few quirky paintings (picture the Mona Lisa holding a cup of coffee).

Just like its quirky aesthetic, the menu features equally wacky mains from brunch platters and yoghurt bowls to pasta and burgers. Their brunch menu is available until 5pm everyday so even if you’re not an early bird, this cafe has got you covered.

Treat yourself to the Oddity Breakfast Platter (S$22) which comprises hearty ingredients such as streaky bacon, bratwurst sausage, sauteed mushrooms, blistered tomatoes, miso-honey glazed tater tots, eggs, sourdough toast, and sundried tomato dip (whew, that was a mouthful).

Otherwise, the Acai Glow Bowl (S$16) with housemade mixed berry acai and refreshing fruits makes for a lighter snack.

There are other brunch options that are equally interesting like the Bulgogi Eggs Bennie (S$20) that comes with Asian pear beef bulgogi and napa kimchi on a sourdough toast or the classic Cheese Toastie Supreme (S$16).

Avocado lovers must try the Arigatoast (S$18) — a fusion of smashed zesty avocado, togarashi spice, and kizami nori. 

If you’re feeling boozy, order the brunch cocktails including Mimosa, Espresso Martini, and Aperol Spritz which are all priced at S$18 each — it’s always happy hour somewhere.

How about pairing it with a side of Intrusive Tots (S$16)? Only this time, I’d willingly welcome it as it comes with tater tots alongside a torched cheese blend with garlic aioli and bacon bits.

However, I’m more intrigued by the pastas and burgers because of their quirky names. 

There’s Aglio but Adorable (S$22), A Ballsy Feeling (S$22) with jumbo wagyu meatball in housemade hearty pomodoro sauce and Asian Flush (S$19), featuring a spicy tomato cream sauce with streaky bacon and baked mushrooms.

For those who are in the area and looking for a dessert fix instead, they have freshly made in-store artisanal ice cream by OddBalls Ice Cream. 

Flavours include Grandma’s Apple Pie, Pistachio, Roasted Rice Milk Tea, Rum & Raisin and most notably, Okinawa Sweet Potato that all you sweet potato fanatics will go crazy for. 

Anyone up for brunch? Head down to Oddity Cafe for hearty fare and a sweet treat!

 Scoop & Sketch is a late-night gelato cafe and while there are plenty of gelato cafes in Singapore, there’s really none quite like this one. 

It  is located on the ground floor of Atrix Building along Geylang Lorong 23, and is also home to a tattoo parlour — hence the name Scoop & Sketch. Who would’ve thought that a tattoo parlour and a gelato cafe could be merged together under one roof? 

In case you’re wondering, yes, you can actually get a tattoo here, or watch someone get a tattoo, while you chow down some yummy gelato and waffles. 

Apart from the super unique concept, Scoop & Sketch also sports a very unique aesthetic. Unlike most gelato cafes which sport a minimalist theme overflowing with chill and zen vibes, this two-storey cafe has a more cartoon-ish aesthetic decked with fun and quirky colours. 

The ground floor of the cafe is where the “scoop” aspect of things is located — aka the F&B section. Here, you can choose to have your gelato in a cone (S$1), cup or with some freshly made waffles (S$7). Prices of the gelato are also kept pretty affordable starting from just S$5 for a single scoop. 

Flavour-wise, they also have some pretty unique flavours like Chrysanthemum Cacao Nibs, Blue Pea Vanilla, Matcha KitKat, Peanut Butter Strawberry Jelly and White Truffle gelato. 

But of course, they also have classic flavours like Earl Grey Lavender, Cookies & Cream, Salted Butterscotch, Speculoos, and Black Sesame. 

My favourite was definitely the Grape Yakult which was super tangy and refreshing, especially on a hot sunny day. It added a nice sour and fruity zing to the fluffy waffle. 

If you love peanut butter, the Peanut Butter Strawberry will definitely be right up your alley. It is super gao with a strong peanut flavour but also has a nice sweet strawberry finish. 

Apart from serving gelatos and waffles, the cafe also has beverages like coffees, sodas and craft beers from funky brands like Brother Beer (from S$17), Lost Coast beer (from S$16), and more.

If you love Korean convenience store drinks, you’d be pleased to know that you’ll also be able to find some of them here!

If you’re like me and need a drink with your gelato, Scoop & Sketch has a special Happy Meal option from just S$14 which comes with a scoop of gelato, waffle, and a drink — simply perfection. We recommend pairing your gelato with their Iced Mocha (S$6) that was not too sweet and milky with a robust coffee aroma.

The second floor is where all the ‘sketching’ happens. The second floor space is occupied by Naked Skin Tattoo parlour. There’s also more seats available on the second floor with a view of someone getting a tattoo — although if you have a fear of needles, you might wanna stay on the ground floor. 

Interestingly, if you get a tattoo done here, you’ll be able to enjoy some food discounts. And of course, if you feel inspired by the artsy decor to get inked here, you’ll also get to enjoy a discount off your new tattoo. 

Prices for a tattoo vary based on the complexity of the design and start from S$150. Not gonna lie, their designs got me intrigued and I was tempted to get a tattoo done. 

For those who are on the fence about getting a permanent tattoo, the cafe will also have a temporary tattoo station that will begin operations in March, operating only on weekends. 

Scoop & Sketch will also have their very own photobooth opening soon, and judging by the quirky interior of the cafe, we can’t wait to see what the photobooth has to offer. 

Other exciting things in the pipeline include a Sketch card which will have a topic of the day for you to sketch anything you want while you enjoy your ice cream. There’ll also be a merch shop, Papa Shop, which will feature exclusive merch like temporary tattoos, stickers and more.

If you’re planning to head down, make sure to come by in your PJs because you’ll be able to enjoy the Scoop & sleep one-for-one gelato deal! But the catch is you cannot come in just any sleepwear, you gotta come in actual printed pyjamas — anyone up for a little slumber party?

Just five minutes from Chinatown MRT, The Shelter boasts a unique blend of local eats and cafe fare and catch this — they have a “whale” in the shop itself! That’s a good enough reason to pay a visit, is it not? 

Once you enter the cafe, you’ll notice its industrial layout filled with metal furnishings and their display of streetwear t-shirts from their affiliated store — The Shelter Global (It’s giving sleek and modern vibes). 

It might look cold to some but the blue hues from the strip lights creates a cosy ambience for all their diners. 

Their menu embraces traditional local cuisine whilst adding a modern touch to it. If you’re looking for something with sustenance, they serve Curry Chicken with Rice (S$7), Mee Rebus (S$6), Mee Siam (S$6) and even Pork & Century Egg Porridge (S$3). 

These prices are hard to come by, especially when it comes to cafe fare.

Or for those feeling fancy, go for the Curry Chicken with Focaccia (S$11) instead. The bite-sized rosemary and garlic focaccia are perfect for soaking up the spicy and rich curry. 

For those who are looking for shelter to catch up with friends, they also offer sides suitable for sharing like the Honey Glazed and Buffalo Wings, each priced at S$10. 

If you’re feeling hungry but are looking for other carb alternatives, they do offer a variety of sandwiches and French toasts like the Ham and Cheese Toastie (S$8). Lightly toasted bread paired with savoury ham and melted cheese sounds like a snack you can never go wrong with.

Eating all these snacks might get a little greasy, but you can always wash it all down with their surprisingly extensive selection of drinks! 

Their in-house made gelato and brussels waffles is probably what makes them stand out from the crowd. With the gelato flavours on rotation, you’ll be in for a surprise whenever you step into the shop. 

Some of the specialty flavours include Earl Grey & Butterfly Pea Flower, Ocean Grey, Avocado Gula Melaka, and Mango Yoghurt, starting from S$4 per scoop.  

Go on and add a Matcha and Charcoal Waffle (S$3.50) or Charcoal Cone (S$1), alongside toppings (S$0.5) like sliced almonds, chocolate syrup and mini marshmallows if you’re feeling it (just try not to get a food coma after). 

If you’re looking for something different, opt for the crowd favourite French Toast with Caramelised Bananas (S$12.50)!

Try their craft mocktails that are all priced at S$8. You can choose from the Blue Yuzu or Mango Sour if you need something refreshing. I’m more intrigued by the Coco Chanel which is a blend of coconut and energy drink.

Fans of Jinro will be delighted to find that they offer Original Soju (S$15) here as well. A few bottles of this paired with the buffalo wings sounds perfect for late-night talks. 

This is for all my matcha lovers. The Matcha Latte is priced at S$5.50 (hot) and S$6 (iced) each. They also have specialty drinks like Einspanner Latte (S$9) and Affogato (S$7.50). 

But, if you can’t make up your mind, why not go for their Einspanner Matcha (S$9) or Einspänner Hojicha (S$9)? It’s certainly something new that we don’t usually get at other cafes and certainly seems worth the try!

Now, this is probably why some of you have read up to this point. To address the elephant in the room, yes, there is a whale (not a real one, unfortunately). It’s essentially a whale statue encased in glass, an eye catching piece of decor that would make for an interesting photo spot!

The post This hidden industrial-style cafe has a quirky menu that serves local hawker fare, specialty ice cream, unique coffee selections & more from just S$3 appeared first on Confirm Good.

However, that means many often go overlooked.

Unless you live or work in the neighbourhood, Home Cafe along Bedok Reservoir Road is one such cafe you’ve probably never heard of.

It’s located under a HDB block, just a six-minute walk from Kaki Bukit MRT, so not the most convenient.

As its name suggests, the cafe is cosy and very chill, decked out in warm wooden furnishings. You’ll probably see people working on their laptops on weekdays, given that free Wi-Fi and power plugs are available.

You can take your pick from an assortment of speciality coffee, cakes, pastries, hot food, and gelato on waffles, all of which are prepared without any pork, lard, or alcohol, making everything Muslim-friendly.

One of their bestselling desserts, which I deem a must-order (especially if you only want one sweet treat), is the Strawberry Basque Cheesecake (S$6.50 per slice).

Basque burnt cheesecake is layered with cream and a sprinkling of dried rose petals — kinda like the layered cakes you find in Korean cafes.

The texture of the cake was more dense than silky, akin to that of NY-style cheesecakes, but it paired nicely with the light and airy cream.

I’ve had my fair share of artificial-tasting strawberry desserts (think strawberry milk) but this was subtly sweet, floral, and a little tart.

Chocoholics may find the biscoff-topped Belgium Chocolate Basque Cheesecake (S$6.50 per slice) on the lighter side, but it gets the job done. As long as you don’t expect a chocolate dessert that’s too rich or decadent, you’ll enjoy this.

Celebrating a special occasion or simply feel like treating the family to something sweet? Whole Cheesecakes (from S$28 for 6′ inch) are available for both online pre-orders and walk-ins (subject to availability).

If cheesecake isn’t your thing, the Coffee Tiramisu (S$6.50), with its layers of creamy mascarpone and coffee-soaked sponge, will sit well with those who want something more traditional. There’s also a Matcha (S$6.50) version for all you tea lovers.

As for the selection of pastries, which includes savoury options like the Butter Chicken Pie (S$6.90) and Turkey Ham Spinach Quiche (S$6.90), there are plenty to choose from.

We were recommended the flaky Almond Croissant (S$4.90), topped generously with frangipane (a sweet almond paste-like cream) and toasted almonds — I can see why it’s a bestseller!

Although most visit for desserts, there are several pasta, baked rice, and savoury bites on the menu, such as the popular Smoked Duck Alfredo Pasta (S$11.90), a creamy, peppery, and ultra-comforting main.

Unsurprisingly, Home Cafe boasts a wide variety of both coffee and non-coffee beverages, with slightly more unconventional offerings like the Spanish Latte (S$5.50) and London Fog (S$5).

But if I were you, I’d zero in on the Barista Specials (S$6) and choose from a seasonal menu featuring drinks like Peach Latte, Iced Brown Sugar Shaken Oatmilk Espresso, and my favourite of the lot, the refreshing Yuzu Matcha.

If good ol’ waffles and gelato are what you seek, prices start from S$7.90 for a Half Waffle with Single Scoop.

There are seven gelato flavours on rotation on any given day, so you might be able to try something new every time you visit. We opted for the Cookies and Cream, which was chock full of chunky oreo bits, and the earthy yet refreshing Yuzu Hojicha atop crispy, golden brown waffles.

The next time you find yourself in Bedok, why not hit up Home Cafe for a relaxing afternoon (be it solo or with a friend) over cake and coffee?

It may look just like your typical neighbourhood ice cream parlour, with its limited seating, clean furnishings, and location (it is sandwiched in between a laundromat and hair salon at the foot of a HDB block), but the menu is one that stands out from the rest.

Take your pick from the rather unique selection of handcrafted Silcilian-style gelato (from S$4.20 per scoop) in fun seasonal flavours like Caramelized Banana Prata, Maple Walnut Pie, Salted Oreo, and a locally-inspired Kopi Toast. These are joined by the usual suspects like Thai Milk Tea, Matcha, and Vanilla Pod, all of which are freshly churned on a regular basis.

Plant-based folk have not been forgotten, as vegan-friendly options like Pink Guava Berries, Mango Basil, and Cendol Jackfruit are also served here. Another thing to note is that delato refrains from using any pork, lard, or alcohol in their dessert offerings.

There are 12 gelato flavours on rotation at any given time, so you can look forward to new, limited-edition flavour every time you visit.

You can choose to pair your ice cream with a Charcoal Cone (S$1.20) or delato’s signature Matcha Mochi Waffles (S$7), which are studded with chewy mochi bits. Feel free to also jazz things up with toppings (S$0.50) like rice crispy puffs, biscoff crumbs, and maple syrup.

Alternatively, order a Duo Waffle (S$7.50), comprising half an original waffle and half a matcha mochi waffle, if you want to have the best of both worlds.

Beverages include speciality espresso-based coffees, Chocolate, and Matcha Latte (from S$4.50), but I’ve got my eye on the Maple Latte (from S$5), which sounds perfect for easing into the year-end “fall” vibes.

Well, North-siders will now be able to get their hands on the popular Scallion Oil Noodles (S$4.90), Spicy Crayfish Noodles (S$14.90), and more without making the trip to town.

2. Bulgogi Syo 

You might have heard of Seorae, but what about Bulgogi Syo? Brought to you by the folks behind Seorae, this restaurant opened its first branch in April 2023 at Bugis. Now, you’ll also be able to find it at The Woodleigh Mall! It’s known for its three-step hot stone grilling process that includes a showy flambé finish, so their meats come out extra smoky. 

3. Genki Sushi 

This sushi chain needs no introduction. Mentaiko lovers, this is your sign to head over to Genki’s latest outlet for their iconic fries, affordable sushi and more.

4. VeganBurg

The world’s first plant-based burger joint is finally opening a second outlet; and it happens to be in The Woodleigh Mall, so you won’t have to travel to the east to get some delicious meat-free grub. Now there’s really something for everyone, all in one place!

Sandos, anyone? Swee Heng’s viral halal-certified sandwich concept has opened a food kiosk at the mall’s basement level, and their almost-too-pretty-to-eat sandwiches are perfect to have on the go if you don’t have time for a sit-down meal. 

6. Qin Ji Rougamo 

At this point, I’m considering just moving to the North altogether (east side who?). You can get the popular umami-filled Chinese burgers from Qin Ji Rougamo — choose from the OG Qin Ji Pork Rougamo (S$5.80), Black Pepper Beef (S$5.90), and more. If you’re looking for something more filling, there’s even dishes like suan la fen (S$8.80).

7. A&W

Root beers, coney dogs, and fried chicken? Yes please! There’s a reason why their long-awaited return to Singapore was so hyped, after all. 

8. Yu Ba Fang 

This famous chain specialising in Taiwanese dumplings first came to our shores in 2021, and have drawn pretty long queues — a clear sign (especially in Singapore) that the food’s good. Head down to try their YBF Classic Signature dumplings, or even special releases like Tom Yum Pan Fried Dumplings. 

9. Tiong Bahru Bakery 

Yes, it’s yet another Tiong Bahru Bakery outlet. Getting your pastry fix from the famous bakery has never been easier — just imagine snacking on your favourite croissant, kouign amann, and so much more. 

10. Beans.Factory 

North-siders, you’ll no longer need to travel all the way to Tanjong Pagar to get Taiwanese-style desserts. This popular Malaysian dessert chain has opened a second outlet in The Woodleigh Mall, so you can head down any time for Tau Fu Fah (soya beancurd pudding), Shaved Ice, and Grass Jelly.

11. Wonder Gelato 

Ask any Italian: how do you know if gelato is legit? When it’s stored in those metal tubs. Well, that probably means that you can expect the real deal from Wonder Gelato! With freshly-churned flavours like pistachio, buckwheat, nutella swirl, and more, you’ll defo be spoilt for choice. Plus, they even have croffles and smoothies!

12. OLLA Specialty Coffee

If you’ve been on the hunt for a good cuppa, you’ll be delighted to know that artisanal coffee joint OLLA has made its foray into the North. Think specialty coffee, brunch menu items like fluffy scrambled eggs atop sourdough bread — need I say more?  

13. snacKING Retro Biscuits

Whenever I find myself craving for some of those nostalgic childhood snacks, I run into the same problem — not knowing where to get them. If you can relate, it’s time to make a trip to snacKING Retro Biscuits where you’ll find old-school biscuits, snacks and toys at affordable rates. 

14. Food Republic

You might be wondering: what’s so special about this particular food court? Well, apart from having a delectable range of highly-rated brands, it’s actually the first outlet to offer kids’ meal options. The industrial, street-style food court will also feature a specially-commissioned wall mural by award-winning Singaporean graffiti artist, TraseOne.

15. Fairprice Finest 

I know, NTUC isn’t usually what comes to mind when deciding on dine-in options. However, you might want to head over to this particular 24-hour outlet that houses a blended food hall concept featuring freshly baked breads, quality brews from Tiong Hoe Specialty Coffee, craft beers, and even shaken cocktails. 

The Grocer Kitchen’s ‘Pick ‘n’ Cook’ option allows patrons to choose their own fresh seafood to be prepared by the chefs on site (with a S$8 cooking fee). It’s like dining in a restaurant — but even more affordable! Plus, you’ll even find mouthwatering delights like personalised cheese platters from just S$15, freshly shucked oysters, premium chirashi dons, and more. 

While not all of these establishments are operating at the time of writing, you can expect them to open over the next couple of weeks. 

Fellow foodies, perhaps it’s finally time to make a trip to the North!

The home-grown gelato brand has established itself as one of the most exciting F&B options in the public dine-&-play area outside Singapore’s Bird Paradise, Mandai Wildlife West.

Instead of the usual takeaway kiosks, this fifth Mandai outlet features a casual all-day dining concept, Birds of Paradise Gelato Boutique & Sandwich Bar.

The stunning space, which was designed with sustainability in mind, features both a campervan-inspired silver bullet food truck and dine-in tabletops made of upcycled botanical waste material and pink marble.

If you’re feeling peckish, hit up the special Sandwich Bar serving up shakes, coffee and comforting rye-sourdough sandwiches with a botanical twist.

Choose from Egg Mayo Sourdough (S$10.80), paired with a curious combination of coriander and pistachio; Grilled Triple Cheese (S$12.80) with rojak flower; and Tuna & Gouda (S$12.80), complemented with dill and slow-roasted tomatoes.

The kids can go for either the Egg Mayo Toastie (S$9.80) or Double Cheese Toastie (S$10.80).

Pair your sandwiches with a Strawberry Basil (S$9.80) or Chocolate Shake — they’re made with just two ingredients, so they’re healthier than usual (right?)

Alternatively, bakes like Banana Cake (S$5) or Cookies (S$4.50) from Mother Dough Bakery are available.

But if you’ve got nothing but the brand’s well-loved gelato on your mind, signatures include the likes of Midnight Gianduja, White Chrysanthemum, Lychee Raspberry, and my personal favourite, Sea-Salt Hojicha (that I crave for on a weekly basis).

However, you can also take your pick from an expanded range of dairy-free gelato in outlet-exclusive flavours like Cucumber Mint, Banana & Coconut Caramel, and Smoked Chocolate. From vegans to the lactose-intolerant, there is something for everyone here!

As a matter of fact, why not take it up a notch by enjoying your scoop with a shot of espresso à la the classic Affogato (S$9.50)?

Sundaes are also on the menu — I’ve got my eye on the Strawberry Basil and Pandan Sundae topped with coconut flakes, pomegranate seeds, and coconut blossom nectar.

Now you know where to cool down after a spot of wildin’ and birdwatching!

Located on the unassuming second floor of a shophouse, this little cafe is the perfect quaint getaway for a quiet tea break in the middle of a bustling city — and they serve up a myriad of yummy desserts and drinks with unique flavours.

Check out their specialty drinks that don’t only taste amazing, but are also absolutely gorgeous for your IG feeds and TikTok — the Military Latte (S$8), a tri-coloured camo-inspired drink made with espresso, matcha and chocolate, the Coconut Charcoal Einspenner (S$8), The Cotta (S$9), an espresso with pistachio creme and milk, and the Orange Osmanthus Cloud (S$8).

For those looking to add a little zest to their coffee, try the Orange Dark Mocha (S$6) for a rich and aromatic cuppa. If you’re more into the classics, there’s also the usual Black (S$4.50) and White (S$5) coffees. 

Don’t worry if you’re not a coffee person, there’s also tea and other non-coffee options like Matcha Latte (S$6), Chai Latte (S$6), Mint Hot Chocolate (S$5) and more. 

Of course, you’d need a little treat to go with your beverage of choice here. The cafe is known for their gelato (from S$5) – and you’ll probably find a bunch of flavours that you’ve never tried before here!) — Dark Chocolate French Rose, Gorgonzola with Candied Pecans, Muscat Grape Sake, Dark Chocolate Baijiu with Applewood Smoked Longans and many more. 

PS: the flavours change regularly so you’ll always have something new and interesting to try, whenever you head over.
